Our Syrah is full-bodied and bold. With undertones of allspice and berry, our Syrah encapsulates the feel of family gathered around a thanksgiving table. It is pleasant on the palate from start to finish.

Rating:89
Deep magenta at its core, the 2017 Sidewinder Syrah displays aromas of black pepper, smoky meats with elements of dried herbs and dusty red flowers. Medium to full-bodied, the palate displays a dusty and firm mouthfeel with elements of bitter dark chocolate and black tea before concluding with a straightforward and spicy finish. Drink over the next 3 to 4 years.

Bosma 2017 Sidewinder Syrah – From the original estate vineyard (first planted in 1994), this was released in the spring of 2019. These old vines deliver the goods – classic varietal flavors, punchy fruits with highlights of cold coffee, anise and charred earth. This vintage is hitting a good window for Syrah at six years of age. In terms of style and structure it’s a good match for some of the Boushey Syrahs from the eastern end of the valley. 70 cases; 15.3%; $36 (Rattlesnake Hills) 91/100

Bosma Estate Winery 2018 Sidewinder Syrah • 93 pts.
Made from old vines planted thirty years ago in the Rattlesnake Hills AVA, this is bold and robust, with notable minerality and a core of jammy black and blue fruit inlaid with high-toned clove and herbaceous notes. Ends with sustained energy and momentum. This library wine is a head-turning Syrah.
